Financing needed

The aim of KJEF is to raise NZ$700,000 in 2018 to cover basic physical and organisational structures and facilities to be put in place, (e.g. buildings that include elephant night shelters, roads, solar power and water irrigation systems etc) land leasing and associated costs, staff wages and most importantly, the first elephant inhabitants.

Financing is being raised through avenues such as:

·         The sale of Viv and Jack Lanting's family home  - ✔️

·         Guardianships of the Project  (8 of 20 tentatively pre-sold) - ✔️

·         Donations

·         Corporate sponsorships

·         Foundation grants

·         Crowd funding avenues

·         Fundraising events

·         Online shop sales (opening in July)

Total tentatively raised to date  =  NZ$241,642

Remaining amount needed  =  NZ$458,358

On budget forecast figures, once the target amount is reached, KJEF can, within 2 years of opening, become a self-sufficient organisation that is no longer reliant on donations or sponsors. This will place the Project in a strong position to, in the foreseeable future, accumulate the finances needed to purchase the land upon which it sits and further land surrounding it in the years to come.
